I haven't posted here for over a month, and now I'm totally going to cop-out by wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day.

Whether you interpret the "happy" part of that sentiment as gazing lovingly into your significant other's eyes while The Notebook/Gone With the Wind/When Harry Met Sally plays in the background or hurling random chunks of ice at unsuspecting couples who pass by too close to you while breaking every social standard of acceptable PDA is entirely up to you.

Since I like to prattle on about things that don't matter, like the Canadian federal election (seriously, I was talking to someone the other day that was from Prince Edward Island and had no idea who Elizabeth May was, but was all over the Barack Obama bandwagon), I just thought I'd take this opportunity to state that the NDP candidate for my riding is 21 and in my Japanese class. Is this kind of cool? Yes. Does it do anything remotely constructive for my inferiority complex? No.

I think we should all share our oopses.

Okay, so, since I am a benevolent blogger and am always worried that those on my friends list are not receiving sufficient lolz, I bring to you http://shareyouroops.ca, where you can go and discuss with people you don't know how you a) became supremely drunk, b) located the nearest penis and proceeded to have probably-consensual sex with it, and c) were too involved in the "moment" to recognize even at a passing glance that, hey, maybe this isn't actually a good idea. Maybe I'm just a judgmental bitch, but the entire concept of this "website" boggles my mind. Whatever happened to the golden era of shame-facedly slinking to the pharmacy the morning after without having to inform everyone that possesses both a computer and an internet connection?

Anyway.

This is an image of the cat bus from the Miyazaki film, My Neighbour Totoro. Best mode of transportation ever? Yes. Did my head explode all over the wall because the concept of a cat as a bus was too much to bear? Yes.

So, supposing that I live until tomorrow and don't succumb to the potential fatality that is the laziness I have allowed myself to subscribe to in the last week, I will, ostensibly, turn nineteen. To some people, this is a big deal. To me, it's Saturday. Funny how that works out.

This morning, I enrolled myself in a CPR course that begins in ten days. It runs from eight until four, and involves my personal interaction with people I've never met before, but other than that, I'm just so psyched. It's a necessity for a few of the jobs I desire to obtain this summer, as the majority of them are in childcare, so I'm biting the bullet and taking the damned course. Other than these thoroughly exhilirating jobs working with the kiddies, I have the option of being a cashier, a waitress, a dishwasher, or a hotel housekeeper because, apparently, I am trained for nothing. Yippee!

Tomorrow, Brittany is coming down from Saskatoon, and we are spending the day together. In the evening, we are meeting my parents and Dean for dinner at a Japanese steakhouse in Regina. It should be a fine evening. :) On Tuesday, I'm heading with her to Saskatoon for a few days. This means I have to apply for jobs on Monday, if I want to do it before I leave. Again, so psyched. Really.

On the 16th, my friend Jenn from Mt. A is coming to stay with me for a few days, and we are attending the opening night of Prince Caspian together. I might be heading back with her to her house in Winnipeg for a bit, but that hasn't been decided yet.

So, there you go, an update. Don't you feel enthralled?

Things I did today:
-Read all of two chapters of my astronomy text book, in preparation for my final on Saturday. This is in addition to the three chapters that I read last night. There are around eighteen chapters I need to read, as well as reviewing my notes, and brainstorming the essay questions. For Saturday. I am going to fail. I also have to study for my political science exam. Which is on Monday. I am going to fail.
-Went to meal hall for two hours, and hung out with Harrison for the last time, as he is moving to Vancouver.
-Completed political science project with Seonaid.
-Downloaded music by Elton John.
-Bought juice and crackers.
-Went out for coffee with Aria.
-Wasted time and procrastinated on Facebook. And then here. And then on MSN. And then on the phone.
-Washed my cups.
-Stared at my astronomy text book blankly, wondering why the hell I ever voluntarily signed up for a class that concerns itself with stellar births and Doppler shifts.

The deadline for my term paper on why Newfoundland chose not to join confederation in 1867 has been extended until Wednesday. I imagine this is what the second coming of Christ would feel like.
